The Roads Department is responsible for the construction, maintenance and management of all roadways under the jurisdiction of the Township of Wainfleet. Other road jurisdictions in Wainfleet include the Ministry of Transportation (Highway 3) and the Regional Municipality of Niagara (Regional Roads 3, 4, 7, 15, 23, 24, 27, 45, 63, and 627).

The Township of Wainfleet maintains a total of 498 lane kilometres of roadway. 260 lane kilometres are surface-treated or paved roads and 238 lane kilometres are loose-topped or gravel roads.

The Township of Wainfleet also maintains approximately 400 kilometres of roadside drainage ditches. Roadside drainage ditches are constructed and maintained to provide road drainage. Municipal drains are administered through the Drainage Department.

Township roads are classed and maintained in accordance with Ontario Regulation 239/02 made under the Municipal Act, 2001 as Classes 3, 4, 5, and 6 roads.

The Operations Department maintains approximately 200 streetlights in the Township of Wainfleet. To report a streetlight that is in need of repair, please contact the Operations Department at 905-899-3022.
