Calling all landowners along the Welland River

European water chestnut is an aggressive invasive aquatic plant, first detected in our area in 2020. The Invasive Species Centre has since launched the European Water Chestnut Rapid Removal Program and is seeking to engage with landowners along the Welland River.

After years of dedicated service to the municipality, the Township’s highly respected Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), William Kolasa, has announced his upcoming retirement. Council is pleased to announce their unanimous appointment of the Township’s current Treasurer, Mallory Luey, as the new Chief Administrative Officer as the fruition of the Township’s succession planning efforts.
Call for Submissions - Municipal Banner Program!

Further to Council direction at its regular meeting held April 25, 2023, the Township of Wainfleet is seeking submissions of a digital art design by local residents to create a Municipal Banner concept to be implemented as part of the Spring/Summer Municipal Banner Program.

Wainfleet Council passed its 2023 municipal budget at their regular meeting held on Tuesday March 21, 2023.
While several previous budget cycles focussed on the realities of debt management and addressing the ever-expanding infrastructure gap faced by Ontario municipalities, the current Wainfleet Council has positioned the municipality to meet the Township’s budgetary needs with very modest, and targeted, increases.
