By-law Enforcement
Township of Wainfleet Municipal By-law Enforcement Officers investigate all formal complaints regarding by-law violations. We may seek voluntary compliance, issue penalties or lay charges where appropriate. Enforcement Officers act in compliance with Council's By-law Enforcement Policy.
Complaints
All formal complaints are confidential, unless a Justice of the Peace or a judge deems that it is necessary to make the complaint information public in deciding a case before the courts.
We conduct inspections when we receive a completed complaint form.
By-law Enforcement aims to:
- Educate and increase public awareness of Township by-laws
- Educate residents on the responsibilities and expectations as property owners and tenants
- Gain voluntary compliance with Township by-laws
There will always be some unavoidable neighborhood inconveniences that residents should realize is part of living in a community and are asked to be understanding and reasonable during these times. Residents should not have to tolerate excessive and continued actions that negatively affects the enjoyment of their property.
