INTENTION TO ADOPT A 2023 MUNICIPAL BUDGET
The Council of the Corporation of the Township of Wainfleet hereby gives Notice that it will commence discussions to adopt a 2023 Budget for the Township of Wainfleet and its associated Boards and Committees.
The 2023 Budget meeting schedule anticipates the following four meetings:
- Consideration of 2023 Capital Budget -Tuesday, January 31, 2023, 7:00 pm
- Adoption of 2023 Capital Budget -Tuesday, February 7, 2023, 7:00 pm

Wainfleet Terminates Emergency Declaration

With the primary drivers now resolved, we are pleased to announce the official termination of the State of Emergency declared at 0900hrs on December 24, 2022, in response to the blizzard conditions arising from winter storm Elliott. This has been received and acknowledged by the Provincial Emergency Operations Centre.

Township Blizzard Closures

Environment Canada has issued an official Blizzard Warning from at 11:14 AM EST on Thursday 22 December 2022 for the Southern Niagara Region. According to the warning a “crippling” blizzard is expected Friday and Saturday and “travel will become dangerous and is not advised.”
Hazards include blizzard conditions, wind gusts of up 120 km/h, snowfall of 15 to 30 cm by Sunday morning, wind chill values near minus 20 and flash freeze effects producing icy and slippery surfaces. In addition, the NPCA has...
