The Planning Department has initiated a housekeeping zoning by-law amendment to address mapping errors and agricultural zone exception numbering errors as well as to include several amendments to Zoning By-law 581-78 (repealed in part) in Zoning By-law 034-2014. The housekeeping amendment involves many properties within the Township and as such a key map has not been provided. The Township of Wainfleet is joining other Niagara municipalities in recognizing and participating in events being planned by the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW), Welland District, in their advocacy campaign against gender-based violence.

The certification of voting results in the Township of Wainfleet continues today following the general municipal elections held across Ontario yesterday.

The Township of Wainfleet has been advised that the Port Colborne Urgent Care Centre (UCC) is required to temporarily close on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 4 p.m., and will reopen on Sunday, Oct. 9, at 8 a.m.
