The terms and conditions set out in this policy apply to all persons that access, use or view any website or mobile application of the Corporation of the Township of Wainfleet (“the Township”). By accessing, using or viewing Township websites or mobile applications, you agree to these Terms of Use.

No person may access or use any Township website or mobile application in a way that violates any law, rule or regulation, interferes with or disrupts any Township website, mobile application, network, server, database or system, or interferes with the use or enjoyment of Township websites and mobile applications by any other person.

The Township does not represent or warrant the accuracy, currency, reliability, or completeness of content and/or information provided on its websites or mobile applications. The Township expressly disclaims any such representations or warranties including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

The Township is not responsible or liable for any loss or damage including but not limited to direct, indirect, special, incidental, consequential, punitive, exemplary or other damages, arising from or in any way related to the use, inability to use, failure, and/or inaccuracy of any Township website or mobile application or any linked website, platform or content.

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein. If any term or condition set out in these Terms of Use is held to be invalid, unenforceable or illegal for any reason, the remaining terms and conditions will remain in full force and effect.

The Township reserves the right to change, modify, supplement or remove these Terms of Use at any time and without notice. Please check this website periodically to ensure that you know what Terms of Use currently apply. If you continue to use this website or other Township website or mobile application after a change to these Terms of Use, you will be deemed to have accepted the change(s).

Privacy Policy

The Township respects the privacy rights of that persons that access or use Township websites and mobile applications. The Township is committed to the security of personal information and has strict policies to protect the confidentiality of identifying information such as names, email addresses and phone numbers. These policies apply to all personal information received by the Township by any method, including online. The Township is also legally required to handle personal information in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

This Privacy Policy sets out how the Township collects and uses online personal information. By accessing, using or viewing Township websites or mobile applications, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

The Township collects and uses online personal information as follows:
 

• Most use of Township websites and mobile applications and the use of many of the online services offered by the Township do not require the provision of personal information.
• The Township only collects online personal information that is provided voluntarily. For example, personal information may be required to:
  • Register for subscription services;
  • Submit questions, comments or suggestions through a feedback form or email;
  • Apply for a permit online; and/or
  • Request to be added to a mailing list or contact list by any Township department.
• The Township will not sell, rent or trade personal information provided online and will not disclose such information except as required by the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
• Township websites use “cookie” technology to capture general information on visitor use patterns. This is computer code that tracks website traffic so that the Township can determine how effective a website is in meeting informational or service needs. It does not track or capture information about individual users and the data collected is used solely as a website performance measure.
• Cookies contain no personally identifying information for Township website visitors. The Township has no information or data about a visitor’s browsing history prior to visiting a Township website or browsing path after leaving Township websites.
