Official Plan

The Township of Wainfleet Official Plan contains goals, objective and policies to manage and direct change and its effects on the social, economic and natural environment of the municipality. This includes policies that apply to residential, commercial, industrial, institutional and other land uses.

To find the designation for your property please follow the steps below. If you require assistance, please contact the Planning Technician.

1. Locate your property on the maps in Schedule B through B9.
2. Determine which designation your property is within and then go to the appropriate section of the official plan for the policies of that designation. For example, if your property is designated Village Residential then go to Section 3.3 (Residential Areas).
3. Review the intent, goals, permitted uses and policies for the designation.
4. Review Schedules C through F to determine if there are any additional features on your property. If your property has any features identified in the schedules, review the relevant sections in the Official plan text.
5. Review Appendices 1 through 4 to determine if there are any additional features on your property. If your property has any features identified in the appendices, review the relevant sections in the Official plan text.

If you wish to develop your property differently than what the Township's Official Plan prescribes, you may submit an application for an official plan amendment. A pre-consultation meeting is required before you can submit an application. The pre-consultation meeting will identify any studies or information that is required to be submitted with your application and the required application fees.
